be described as a collection of techniques that help in controlling the
data traffic and maximizing the efficiency of data flow across a wide

stored on the system and redundant data from all sites is replaced by
placing pointers to the actual data. This also helps in saving money on
disk costs.
4. Protocol Spoofing – It
is an essential method that helps in enhancing performance. It bundles
multiple requests from chatty applications into a single protocol. Used
in situations where existing protocol is inadequate either due to high
error rates or long delays.
5. Latency Optimization –
Latency Optimization can include window size scaling, selective
acknowledgements, congestion control algorithms. In some cases
application is placed near the endpoint of connection to reduce latency.
